Where to eat in Pokhara – Hotspots Pokhara

Pokhara is for many people the start or end point of their trek, but it is also a wonderful city to enjoy a few days. Enjoy sitting by the lake with a view of the mountain tops of the Himalayas, shopping at the countless nice Nepalese shops, parasailing or trekking through the Pokhara valley. And Pokhara is packed with nice restaurants. From traditional Nepalese food to burgers from the grill. During the draw there is little variation in meals and you sometimes want something different than Dal Bath (and I really love Dal Bath). Then it is very nice that Pokhara offers so much choice in restaurants. We have collected the nicest Pokhara hotspots for you.

1. Movie Garden

My absolute no. 1 in Pokhara. Maybe not really a restaurant, but this is the nicest outdoor cinema where I have ever seen a movie. Every day you can come here for nice, good films. But also for delicious pizzas and fantastic cocktails. You have to find it first. The way up is indicated with candles. Once arrived you immediately feel the warm atmosphere. The seating areas consist of chairs, floor cushions, rugs and so on. If you get cold, just grab a blanket. A good pizza, some popcorn for dessert, if you’re lucky here and there a firefly and believe me you really have a great evening!

2. Bamboo bar

We came here for a quick coffee every day (and to cuddle with the cat) but we often lingered for so long that we eventually switched to an ice cold beer. The Bamboo bar is right on the lake, which gives you a fantastic view. We could really stare for hours at this and otherwise do nothing. A wonderful place to completely dream away.

3. Fresh Elements

one of the first restaurants we tried in Pokhara and immediately a topper! The restaurant is super hip and you can sit in the inner garden. I chose a delicious couscous salad and although it may not look super easy, it was really delicious!

4. Road House

Something you don’t find very often in Nepal on the menus is meat. Most Nepalese eat almost no meat. I found this very nice, but I must admit that variety can sometimes be nice (especially Leroy, p). If you are looking for a good burger or a piece of meat from the grill, then you should go to Road House. We opted for a cordon blue and it was really divine. If you fancy western food, go here!

5. OR2K

Super hip and very good! OR2K is completely the opposite of the Road House restaurant. Here everything revolves around vegetarian food. The choice is really huge and the food incredibly good. It is a little bit floating. This way you eat on the floor, no shoes are allowed in and you hear meditation music everywhere.

6. Rosemary Chicken

At Rosemary Chicken you can get both Nepalese and Western dishes. The food is excellent, but we were especially surprised by the staff. Everyone here was so friendly. We have been advised and surprised by the restaurant. And this was really great! You should especially try the Momos here.

7. Chick’N “Falafe

Do you want good food for little money, then you go to Chick’N “Falafel. I can eat falafel every day, so you make me super happy here. You can order doner or Falafel here for a few euros and then you are really bomb full.

8. French Creperie and Bar

I’m really a die-hard dessert fan. I prefer to eat desserts all day long, but then I would be round like a barrel. So I often restrain myself, but when I came across French Creperie and Bar, my heart jumped a little. Of course I had to try this. And then of course with Nutella, banana and nuts. To lick your fingers.

9. The Harbor

A very cozy and beautiful restaurant where you can eat good Western food. The restaurant is really huge and has a beautiful view above. We ate a pasta here and it was really great!

10. Jiva Cafe & Spa

We came here for a massage (which was really fantastic) but you can also come here for a healthy lunch. The garden is super green and you can sit comfortably here.
