Hanoi, the always bustling and busy capital of Vietnam. And one of my favorite city when it comes to food. The street food is amazing! We’ve put together the best hotspots / foodspots for you of Hanoi.
NUMBER 1 – HOME VIETNAMESE RESTAURANT
Traditional Vietnamese dishes with a modern twist. This is definitely our number 1 Hanoi restaurant. It’s a bit hard to find, but this beautiful yellow house is 100% worth the search. Prices are around 10 euros. Slightly more expensive than average, but the quality, service and dishes are exceptionally good. You can try different dishes here.
NUMMER 2 – STREETFOOD HANOI
Explore the city and the food of Hanoi with a street food tour. A food tour is always a good way to get to know a city. It is a fun way to get to know the city, new dishes and nice people. For about 15 euros per person you can book a tour. You will visit several restaurants and eat the best dishes as a local. After the tour you their will be no room left for other food.
NUMBER 3 – THE BEST BUN CHA AT BUN CHA TA
Bun Cha is a traditional Vietnamese dish that you have to eat at a real Vietnamese restaurant at least once in your life. We ate the best Bun Cha during the food tour at Bun Cha Ta. A small restaurant in the middle of the city, where you mainly find locals. For a small price you can eat the best Bun Cha of town.
NUMBER 4 – BANH CANH GHE UT COI
On our way to the St. Josef cathedral we happened to run into this restaurant. The food is super cheap. We tried the fresh spring rolls (60 cents) and a noodle soup (2 euro) as lunch. I think we payed about 5 euros for a fantastic lunch. Delicious!
NUMBER 5 – VIETNAMESE COFFEE AT CONG CAPHED
The coffee in Vietnam is amazing. If you are going to drink coffee, always ask for the Vietnamese coffee. This can be drink cold as well as warm and you should definitely ask for the condensed milk. A trendy restaurant at the cathedral is Cong Caphe. Take a seat on a industrial stool with a delicious cup of coffee and enjoy the streets of Hanoi.
NUMMER 6 – MADAME HIEN RESTAURANT
In old town Hanoi you will find the restaurant Madame Hien. It is a bit pricey, but the food is worth it. You will only find traditional dishes. The restaurant is located in a beautiful old French colonial building. Definitely worth a visit.
NUMMER 7 – BEERCORNER
Ready for some cheap beer! Visit the beer corner. Drop down on a small plastic stool and enjoy the chaos. The best place to spend your evening. A beer here costs about 50 cents.
NUMBER 8 – BANH MI 25
Yes….. it is time for Bahn Mi! You must eat this dish when you are visiting Vietnam. Banh Mi 25 is a small food truck where you can get delicious Banh Mi. Cheap, simple, but also very tasty.
