BACKPACKING through CAMBODIA. A TRIP we will NEVER FORGET
Imagine; in the back a tuktuk driving through the untouched nature, green rice fields and at each village you are received by the locals with a friendly smile. Traveling through Cambodia is an experience never to be forgotten. Cambodia is perhaps a lot smaller than its neighboring countries, but has everything. The most beautiful temples of the world, beaches and even a jungle.
THE TEMPLES OF ANGKOR WAT
A visit to the Angkor area and its fantastic temples should not be missed during your trip through Cambodia. The area is enormous and you need at least a few days to discover the different places. Not bad at all, because all this you can do from the lively and cozy city of Siem Reap.
WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE
Yes, this country even has a jungle. This jungle can be found in the province of Mondulkiri. This area is still little visited, but is an incredibly beautiful part. You can also visit the Mondulkiri Elephant valley project here. A special elephant shelter in the middle of the jungle.
Cambodia has a terrible history. For years, the Khmer Rouge was in power here, killing millions of people. We felt it was important to learn more about her eventful history. During our visit to Phnom Penh we visited the Tuel Sleng Museum and the killing fields. The history of Cambodia is tragic. Yet few people know about this.
